Language Arts

The Next Steps Language Arts course is designed to help students at any level prepare for the HiSET™ or GED™ exam, enter a post-secondary training program, or begin college courses.

The course will provide students with in-depth reading instruction using a variety of texts, ranging from short stories to academic articles. Writing tasks and other assignments will be designed to deepen comprehension and support student exploration of Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. Students will also have the opportunity to practice writing for various audiences, purposes, and situations.

Writing instruction will encompass grammar, spelling, and punctuation. It is important to note that students will not be graded in a traditional sense for this course.

All classes that meet in person are also streamed online simultaneously, allowing students to attend either in person or remotely.
