English Language Learner

Beginning ELL:  As the first course for English Language Learners, this program is designed to help students develop a basic vocabulary in English and a fundamental understanding of grammar, enabling them to communicate effectively in public settings. Additionally, the course prepares students to progress to more advanced levels of study. Therefore, emphasis will be placed on the four essential skills for acquiring a second language: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.

All classes that meet in person are also streamed online simultaneously, allowing students to attend either in person or remotely.

PM Multi-Level ELL: This class is open to students of all levels, with participants divided into appropriate groups. Beginning students will learn basic vocabulary and grammar while practicing reading and speaking skills.

Intermediate students will enhance their abilities through more challenging assignments that cover reading comprehension and effective communication. Contextual lessons will help them feel comfortable speaking in various public situations.

Advanced students will tackle even more complex tasks, including assisting other students in their learning. The focus is on developing the necessary skills for students to enter college, pursue a certificate program, or improve their employment prospects.

Resources used in both intermediate and multi-level classes include Classroom, Burlington English, Readworks, Quizziz, Kahoots, and more. All classes that meet in person are also streamed online simultaneously, allowing students to attend either in person or remotely.
